Pleasant surprise I got last night to find that Angus Stone (or at least its management, you know how these things go) uploaded to the web was a new issue of his debut solo album. This cut is called 'Bird On The Buffalo' and can be heard from now through Soundcloud player that enclosed in the same inning.
If 'Broken Brights' symbolized the stark fragility of a wild love, 'Bird On The Buffalo' is the opposite. Using a vocal melody very close to Bob Dylan's brother Julia Stone offers a modest and somewhat redundant issue could well serve as the soundtrack for a "road trip" between California and Arizona.
There are still several months to July but extremely satisfying to see that Angus Stone has been working in this brave new material. What's next? Mystery, emotion ...
