Fourteen long years have been those who have lived Metric as a whole. Throughout
this time the band Emily Haines scathing lived a progression that has
led them to explode ("Live It Out", released in 2005) and elevate his
career with a spectacular "Fantasies" that put the expectations very,
very high facing a new LP of Toronto. The
quartet, which are ready for a while, have taken almost 1500 days in
release his long-awaited album but finally the wait is worth it,
"Synthetica" is as much or more than you wanted to hear some time ago
for the present 2012.
The shift of sound that has come Metric "Synthetica" on "Fantasies" is not overwhelming, but if considerable. Of
those cyclical melodies power bases we have moved to more powerful
rhythm reminiscent of a hard and ripped version of beats explosive view
of "Supernature" by Goldfrapp. Is it more curious about it? This stage we are enjoying the peak of maturity of a band and began to war with its rhythms more "upbeat" in early 2001. The
first single 'Youth Without Youth' is a reflection of this new left
hook that since the absolute experience is propinando electrorock the
media training.
The
new sound experience starts with gallons Metric 'Artificial Nocturne', a
dense and synthesized each second piece that will grow up to create a
bewitching power threshold of smoke and that it will serve to wrap the
rest of the album. The
theme of the lyrics of "Synthetica" he describes a world in which
humans Fist fighting with technology, and that content is a natural fit
for a melody that is postulated between the voice of Emily and crushing
rhythmic bases administered by Joshua, James and Joules.
Among
the songs on the album can be enjoyed mainly highlight three: the
explosive and expansive 'Speed The Collapse', the brutally direct
'Dreams So Real' and 'Breathing Underwater', where we take Emily's hand
and, with us , fly over the beautiful coast of Canada. Also
deserve comment the eponymous 'Synthetica' (this goes for single) and
'Lost Kitten' showing looks very sweet but with lines like "... i was
looking for a hooker, Then I found you ..." (I was looking a whore and finally I found you) makes it clear that we were playing a Metric doubleheader satirical content and melody. On
the other hand 'The Wanderlust' can play well with an emphasis eighties
that exploits the combined vowel tacked between Lou Reed and our dear
friend and sexy blonde.
Trust this group is the best we could have done. After
four long years of waiting "Synthetica" has appeared, showing again the
sound repertoire flexibly and effectively how well characterized the
quartet in the last decade. Grimes ¿? Sleigh Bells? All
new groups have their place in the market but Metric is back, claimed
their space in a kingdom that still insisted Haines emblematic climb
step by step.

Portrait of Christopher Wilson, art director of Band Of Horses
In early 2010 I had a healthy obsession with Band Of Horses led me to approach the town of Cambridge (United Kingdom) to see how it sounded live that "Infinite Arms" that such good results garnered from critics and audience. Just hours before the concert I was in front of a local Tesco bolus close to when, unexpectedly, through the door of the supermarket members of the band of horses. Creighton and Ryan were missing but there was Ben, Tyler, Bill and a fourth person who, despite being unknown to many, is a key figure in Band Of Horses. This mysterious rubiales by the name of Christopher Wilson is an art director / photographer / filmmaker who has been working "full time" with Band of Horses for about two years.
I also remember Christopher spotted at a concert in the hall gave BOH Apollo in February 2011. That was on the table sound, still and immutable, watching moving organically those snapshots that even today serve as a visual background of all concert hall Band Of Horses. And that is just the tip of the iceberg, Christopher has been behind the majority of promotional materials that have been published in Seattle these past 700 days.
Photography is the largest of the passions of Chris and it is not surprising to discover through their website that this nice guy has been following, step by step, all the pins of all the tours that the band has performed in Bridwell recently. Here we see from photos in Rio de Janeiro to as many in other parts of South America, Europe and USA. Special mention Christopher portraits captured in special moments as the action of Ben Bridwell with Pearl Jam or the brief conversation that former Carissa's Weird singer had with Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen.
Every time I see one of those photos I suspect the reason that they chose to Subpop protected old Chris as its art director. The affable Rubiales has an innate tendency to capture natural landscapes, and that is exactly what has characterized the group's productions of indie rock. Perhaps at the beginning of his career this constant was not as highlighted, but now all the "feeling" that surrounds the whole focus of it. The clearest evidence is found in both album covers and in music that, as expected, have been produced by Chris Wilson. Here you have three examples of four videos posted by BOH who once commented on the web. Pay special attention to the 'Compliments' in which, with various "fades" seamlessly intertwines the form of trees and lush mountains and dense forests.
Besides his work with Band Of Horses, Christopher has several galleries on your site that openly show his love for landscapes with life. These are from portraits of exotic animals to get some snapshots that give life itself to places that a priori claim to be grim and soulless.
Thanks to the work of Christopher Wilson Band of Horses have managed to further define the product of their music on a millimeter and accurate. Now one can only hope that in the face of an upcoming album of the famous band indie rock / alternative country to re-sign their creative fellow sufferer. The world, and ourselves, we would be widely appreciated.

The Tallest Man On Earth, fragile and piano in 'There's No Leaving Now'
The summer weather is here, and with it the need to listen as chilly musical offerings presented by Metric on his latest album, "Synthetica". In between all this album full of cheerful melodies also worth giving a stop on the way to enjoy this well melancholy tone that usually enters fall season. It is at this level so concrete that we present today the song 'There's No Leaving Now' button in the past, and bright, LP The Tallest Man On Earth.
The magic of this piece lies in the chemistry that exists between Kristian's voice and piano, sound resources that get only extend to infinity the echoes of pain and suffering that seems to suffer from the Swedish by a terrible heartbreak. The live version is really good but I think the piece is better recorded in studio.
Lyrics Tallest Man On Earth – “There’s No Leaving Now”
When there’s no one here in the tryouts
Who will live through your first day’s trial
Of confusion when your faint and crooked smile
Had to leave
When you’re painted like a warrior
Though you know it’s a raining war
When the first who spoke, but wasn’t really shure
Was your heart
Your fear of the leading light
If they are with you and your heart won’t fail
To see through a fearless eye
And know that danger finally goes away
Still you’re trying
But there’s no leaving now
With your quiet devotion
To be lost like your child again
Claim forever is a close and honest friend
To your ways
Will there be time to harvest rivers
That for so long refused to grow
All the little things you need to build a home
For your love
Your fear of the leading light
If they are with you and your heart won’t fail
To see through a fearless eye
And know that danger finally goes away
Still you’re trying
But there’s no leaving now

The electric leap to forget Surfact in 'The Step'
I had not talked about Surfact. I have not forgotten them, "Feeding The Beast" was an album consisting of the Danes renewed exposed those weapons in that combined their alternative rock with a chunky electronic specks. Provided bring you into the world of blue band Jesper Storgaard here we leave you with 'The Step', one of the best songs that appear on the third album which was released towards the end of last 2011.
The letter, composed in its entirety by guitarist Martin Kristoffersen, and verse recounts the inevitable way to forget that some of us are forced to do after suffering a heartbreak suffered. That story, so common in our day to day, is represented in a consistent and concise in a subject in its own light shining flare instrumental contributors bassist Niels, drummer Jeppe and Claus Bach always intense.

Hallelujah The Hills
No One Knows What Happens Next
What can I say ... In 2007, the debut album of the six men from Boston, Massachusetts. Collective Psychosis Begone I had back then was blown away. "As Modest Mouse, only drunk" was the vision board to read criticism. Totally fit. But unfortunately, it abolished the board not to enjoy growing popularity and / or popularity. The successor to Colonial drones fired Hallelujah The Hills 2009 then an own goal, because the album was not in any way to build on his predecessor and, lack of vision is the only way was full.
On 25 May there appeared via Discrete Pagean (Cargo Records), the third album No One Knows What Happens Next. And the title says it all. Just found a label, no concerts, only a few in their own country. But to give up because no one thinks. DIY and hold the currency. What should I think of the album I do not know for sure. Sounds not so fresh and drunk as the first disc, but fortunately not as boring as the second. I think you are dealing with a so-called "grower", which is confirmed hopefully in the near future.
The video for the song Get Me In A Room you realize the current DIY attitude of the band formally. The number is pretty good to be desired, the images remain. Just hope that the board is growing, and perhaps still is connected to the first film.

Details of "Undersea EP" by The Antlers
Earlier this week The Antlers unveiled a teaser with which anticipated a new album due out next July 24. Apparently at that time was too little material to assess anything in particular but just leave a small statement, issued by the group from Brooklyn, who has managed to reveal some juicy details of what awaits us. Aim this, the compact format EP will be titled "Undersea" and will feature four themes that respond only to the name of 'Drift Dive', 'Endless Ladder', 'Crest' Zelda '.
In the statement the band Peter Silberman has been let go when wandering about the concept of "Undersea EP": "The work begins with the dream of a quiet flood. The water covers everything. We air over and over again. Everything has changed. - Says Peter. Time slows down as connectivity wash it all over. We are running water, making for the future strokes.
"Undersea" is the feeling of suspension - memories suspended in time and space, power, suspended in the air around us. It is the serenity of falling asleep or sink to the bottom of the ocean. It is both the comfort of knowing that some questions have no answer as the one in which we understand that we will never know the truth.
We searched for patients and colorful sounds, and a calm that allows us to meditate, a persistent pulse leaves the room to breathe and expand as the new world takes shape.
This new phase of The Antlers provides more mystical than ever. Be seen whether the final "Undersea EP" will answer the description that Peter has been described as so intense in its own website.

In the stomach of the dark Purity Ring
Among the music releases of this summer there is one that certainly has an unusual hype. We are talking about "Shrines", Canadian duo's debut album Purity Ring - formed by the Canadian Corin Roddick and Megan James - who will go on sale on July 24 and already is seen as one of the biggest releases this 2012 in electronic pop. It is too early to predict anything about the LP, but with the music video 'Belispeak' have surprised us in a well-Grata.
The clip shows the dark descent into darkness that lives a fragile teenager. All seen from the perspective of twisted and dense American directors Ben and Alex Brewer, who already were behind the video camera as 'Heartbreaker' by Steve Aoki / Lovefoxxx or 'Brothers', another gruesome video of The War On Drugs already commented in his day.
Watch the video and let yourselves be carried away by the grim and eternal forest landscapes Purity Ring.
